Terms of Service

Effective September 2026

These terms govern your use of oodbo ("the service"), operated by oodbo. By using oodbo you agree to these terms.

1. The service

oodbo is a forward-only writing tool. In Forward Mode, once you write something, you cannot edit or delete it — only continue. The service is provided as-is for personal writing use.

2. Your account

You may use oodbo without an account in trial mode. Trial mode gives full access to writing and annotations. Cloud sync, saving and exporting files, and the Word add-in require a paid account. To access those features, you must sign in with an email address, Google account, or Microsoft account. You are responsible for keeping your account secure. Accounts are for individual use and are non-transferable.

3. Your content

You own everything you write in oodbo. We claim no rights over your writing. We do not read, sell, or share your content. See our Privacy Policy for details on how your writing is stored.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use oodbo to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service or its infrastructure
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Use the service to generate spam or automated content at scale

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Payment and refunds

oodbo is available as a one-time purchase, processed by LemonSqueezy. We want you to be satisfied, so all oodbo purchases can be refunded within 30 days, no questions asked. To request a refund, just email us at hello@oodbo.io. When a refund is issued, access tied to that purchase ends.

6. Availability

We aim to keep oodbo available at all times but make no guarantees of uptime. The service may be interrupted for maintenance or due to circumstances beyond our control. Your writing is always accessible via local storage and exported files even when the service is unavailable.

7. Your data on account deletion

Deleting your account removes your oodbo credentials and sign-in access. Your project files stored in your Google Drive or OneDrive app folder are unaffected and remain entirely in your control.

8. Changes to the service

We may update or change features over time. We will not remove core functionality (the writing editor) without reasonable notice. If we shut down the service entirely, we will give at least 90 days notice and provide a way to export all your data.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

oodbo is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free or uninterrupted.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, oodbo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, we will notify signed-in users by email before the changes take effect.

12. Sharing Policy

This section governs the use of oodbo's public share link feature. By generating a share link, you confirm that your content complies with this policy.

12.1 Eligibility

The sharing feature is available to any signed-in oodbo account, free or paid. You must be signed in to create a share link.

12.2 Prohibited Content — Bannable Offences

The following content results in permanent account termination without refund:

• Sexual content involving minors (CSAM) in any form, including fictional depictions
• Content constituting a credible threat of violence against a named individual or group
• Content facilitating a crime, including doxxing (publishing private personal information about another person without their consent)
• Content that violates applicable law in the user's jurisdiction or ours

Accounts terminated for any of the above are permanently banned. No refund will be issued. We reserve the right to report such content to relevant authorities.

12.3 Prohibited Content — Sharing Offences

The following results in removal of the shared link. Repeat violations may result in account termination:

• Graphic depictions of real-world violence presented approvingly or for shock value
• Targeted harassment: content designed to humiliate, intimidate, or harm a specific named private individual
• Hate speech: content that dehumanises individuals or groups on the basis of protected characteristics
• Content that infringes the copyright of a third party
• Defamatory content: false statements of fact about a real, named individual presented as true

12.4 Fictional and Dark-Themed Content

Literary fiction regularly explores dark themes including violence, abuse, trauma, and morally complex characters. The prohibition on graphic violence and harassment applies to the intent and framing of the content, not to the themes themselves. A novel chapter exploring the psychology of a violent character is not the same as a celebration of violence. We apply this distinction in our review process.

12.5 Account Termination and Refunds

Accounts terminated for violation of Section 12.2 (Bannable Offences) are not eligible for a refund of any kind. Decisions on termination are final subject to the appeals process in Section 12.6.

12.6 Appeals

You may appeal any content removal or account action by contacting hello@oodbo.io within 14 days of the decision. Include your account email, the content in question, and the basis for your appeal.
